UkrArt.NL seeks to create a dialog between the Ukrainian artists and art appreciators in the Netherlands

Ukraine is a young democracy in the process of undergoing an important transformation. Events such as the ‘Euromiadan’ revolution, the MH17 tragedy and the so-called ‘Ukraine referendum’ exposed the difficulties of Ukraine’s reality to the Dutch public. The UkrArt.NL project was created to open up a different side of Ukraine to the Netherlands. We showcase work by contemporary artists from Ukraine in an on-line gallery. We also aim to facilitate displaying the works in local galleries in the Netherlands by promoting UkrArt. NL at various local social events.

Sukhjeet Reehal

Founder

Sukhjeet moved to the Netherlands in 2011 from the UK bringing with him a passion for photography, art and the idea that everyone should have their stories heard. Ukraine has experienced an extraordinary few years both politically and economically. In this project, Sukhjeet hopes to capture the social fabric of Ukraine and the creativity of its artists. and the creativity of its artists.

Vira Reehal

Founder

Vira is a native Ukrainian who has lived in the Netherlands for over a decade. In this project she combines her affinity with art and her inherent strive to contribute to the success of Ukraine.
